Iowa : Tourist Hot Spots

Iowa is visited by millions of tourists in all around the season in the state,its evergreen pleasant climate,various historical sites and good hospitality of the local people overwhelmed the visitors.Great Lakes region,picturesque Loess Hills in west central Iowa are the main attractions of the region whereas Effigy Mounds National Monument, Spook Cave McGregor, Vesterheim Norwegian American Museum Decorah are other important places of attractions.

Des Moines:
Des Moines is the capital of Iowa is located south central of the state aong the banks of the Des Moines River.The city owns couple of good and free attractions.It is the center of a metropolitan area consisting of West Des Moines, Urbandale, Ankeny, Johnston, Clive, Windsor Heights, Altoona, and Pleasant Hill.
  • State Capitol: It is the favorite government building of the state where evrery corner from the sparkling gold dome,different types of marble, carvings in both wood and stone and artworks.Paintings, statues and a collection of war flags are exhibited inside the building.
  • Iowa Historical Building: Exhibits the 20th century collectibles include geological and natural development of the state, civic and military history, American Indian culture and transportation displays.
  • Des Moines Art Center: The centre features contemporary collections of 19th & 20th century,sculptural garden and unnumerable artworks of various renowned artistes.
Dubuque:
The city is definitely a worth visiting place that houses 19th century victorian homes and located between the Mississippi river and seven steep hills.
  • National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium: Exhibits the impressive life of about 300 years of the Mississippi river.Nearby palces include Spirit of Dubuque offers mississippi cruises and Eagle Point Park where bird watchers can enjoy the national bird park.
